Where to Look First

For a person who may be in the Thayer County Jail, start with the sheriff's department and jail contact. The county does not publish an official online roster in the research, so the jail phone line is the documented route for current custody, bond, release, visits, mail, and records-request instructions.

• For someone in the county jail, use jail inmate records and then contact the sheriff.
• For a booking photo, review jail roster mugshots and ask the sheriff whether a photo is releasable.
